Substitution of ingredients and suggestions

Now, I always make this Chipotle Honey Vinaigrette recipe with the ingredients listed above because I think it tastes best that way, according to the restaurants. However, you can definitely tweak this recipe to make it your own.

With that said, I'll go through some recommendations below.

Experiment with add-ons

This chipotle vinaigrette recipe tastes just like the real thing, but if you want to add extra flavors, I recommend adding some chopped chipotle peppers, hot chili peppers, or a small squeeze of fresh lime juice. If you want to add a tangy flavor to the vinaigrette, you can also simply substitute hot honey for the honey.

change oil

If you run out of olive oil — or rice bran oil — you can really use any unflavored oil you want. I tried this recipe with avocado oil and grapeseed oil and it turned out really well both times.

Serve over roasted vegetables

As for the dressing, you can honestly use this Chipotle Vinaigrette for whatever you want and it's sure to taste delicious. That being said, one of my favorite ways to use this salad dressing is to drizzle it over roasted veggies. I've tried roasted sweet potatoes, roasted zucchini, and even roasted red peppers and the veggies always turn out so, so delicious. Plus, all of those roasted veggies would be a great addition to any salad — or burrito bowl — you make.

Step 1: Combine the dressing ingredients

First, you should take out a large jar that you can cover with a lid. I usually use a mason jar, but an airtight container works just as well.

Next, add olive oil, red wine vinegar, honey, adobo sauce, water, and any condiments to the jar — or container — and secure with the lid. Just make sure the lid is on tight, then from there you can shake it until it combines with all the dressing ingredients.

By the way, if you want, you can also blend the ingredients in a food processor. Simply mix all the ingredients except for the oil in the food processor. Then, with the engine running on minimum, drizzle in the olive oil and mix until emulsified.

Once your chipotle vinaigrette is fully emulsified, you can serve it with your favorite salad, salad bowl, burrito bowl, or whatever you like!

Oh, and if you don't want to use the dressing right away, you can refrigerate it, but remember to give it a good shake again before serving.

Enjoy.
